Alexandra Cousteau and Mandy Moore take a stand, with American Standard high efficiency toilets, for global safe drinking water and basic sanitation. The World's Longest Toilet Queue on Capitol Hill today was part of a global attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest bathroom line.
The World's Longest Toilet Queue was part of two days of activities in Washington D.C. to support World Water Day (March 22). Cousteau and Moore testified on Capitol Hill about WASH initiatives, an acronym for water, sanitation and hygiene. Lack of access to fresh clean water, the world's largest environmental health crisis, kills 4,500 children every day. Learn more WASH at http://www.waterday.org/.
Cousteau, granddaughter of the famed ocean explorer, founded Blue Legacy the initiative to engage individuals around the world through telling the story of our water planet. http://www.alexandracousteau.org/blue-legacy-overview.
Moore recently returned from the Sudan, and explains more about her interest in freshwater and sanitation here:
